After five years in court, a Kaduna State High Court sitting in Dogarawa Sabon Gari in Zaria, has passed judgement on a rape case.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Kabir Dabo, sentenced the accused, Usman Shehu Bashir to death by hanging for raping a two-year-old girl to death, in 2015.
The convict confessed to committing the offense during the hearing on Wednesday, and Justice Dabo sentenced him to death by hanging, according to Section 221 of the Penal Code.
