APC National secretariat comes alive as Bulama resumes

The assumption of office by Arch. Waziri Bulama as the acting National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has brought life into the National Secretariat of the ruling party in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The party office has been in a state of inactiveness in the last two months following leadership crisis that nearly crippled the party and the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Bulama who was inaugurated May 18, 2020, by the National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole as the party’s acting National Secretary pending the approval of the National Executive Committee ( NEC) formally resumed work at the National Secretariat last Monday.

The Bornu State born politician and new scribe of the governing party on resumption has brought life back into the party Secretariat with high inflow of human activities and meetings.

In an attempt to rejuvinate the party office, the new scribe held a meeting with the management staff of the party, where he unveiled his action plan and programmes to improve the lot of both the party and staff.

A source at the meeting said that the the new scribe solicited for the support of the party workers with a promise to ensure improved staff welfare and demanded for staff commitment to work and loyality to the party.

“The new National Secretary has brought life into the Secretariat. Since he resumed on Monday, he has not only been coming to work every day, he held meetings with the management staff and key workers and shared with us his vision for running a national and ruling political party office. He also assured staff that under his watch, he will ensure improved staff welfare,” an elated staff member disclosed.

When the party Secretariat was visited yesterday, the hitherto state of inactiveness witnessed in the party office in the last two months due to internal leadership wrangling that crippled both official and human activities in the party office have since surge up with high human traffic and activities since the beginning of the week, while staff were seen in high spirit attending to their duties.

It was also gathered that the acting National Secretary has also directed the fumigation of all the offices in preparation for more human activities and full resumption of party staff after the partial lifting of lockdown occasioned by Covid-19 pandemic.

Bulama who takes over from Hon. Victor Giadom, the Deputy National Secretary, was a candidate for the post of national secretary of the APC at the last convention of the party 2018, but out of respect for stakeholders and the northeast governors plea, he stepped down for Mai Mala Buni, who was eventually elected as the Governor of Yobe State in 2019.
