Finance Minister Inaugurates Segun Adaju, Others into Technical Committee

Kogi-born renewable energy expert, Mr. Segun Adaju has been appointed by Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, HM Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed into the Technical Working Group for the Preparation of Medium-Term National Development Plan (MTNDP) 2021 – 2025 and Nigeria Agenda 2050.
Mr. Segun Adaju will be working in the thematic area ‘Power and Alternative Energy’ one of the 7 thematic areas for the MTNDP Plans.

“The development of these plans is in view of the fact that the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) and Nigeria Vision 20:20:20 would lapse in December 2020. Hence to avoid a vacuum, the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning has commenced the preparation of a long term plan tagged ‘Nigeria Agenda 2050’ and Medium-Term National Development Plan (2012 – 2025) to succeed the plans respectively.” He noted.

Segun Adaju who runs the SolarDirect brand that provides offgrid solar power for small busineses and a renewable energy Consultant/ Financial Advisor will be bringing a great of experience on board.

Mr. Segun who is President, Renewable Energy Association Nigeria has provided expert services as a consultant on renewable energy to various organisations such as SolarNigeria Programme funded by DfID, UNDP, Bank of Industry Nigeria, Ecobank Nigeria, USAID, Winrock International, World Bank Group, Federal Government of Nigeria, Hienrich Boll Foundation, CTI Private Finance Advisory Network, Global Alliance for Clean Cook stoves etc. Segun has wide experience in research and market studies spanning microfinance, energy access, renewable energy and energy efficiency.
