“Sympathy To A Family And A People; Tribute To An Eminent Jurist- Justice Nasir Ajanah (Chief Judge, Kogi State)

I commiserate with the family of the Late Justice Nasir Ajanah, Chief Judge of Kogi on the sad and untimely death of my lord Justice Ajanah. I also extend my condolence to all our people across Kogi State and my professional constituency of lawyers and jurists.

This tragic loss of one of our finest and leading legal minds as well as an accomplished jurist is painful to all. We however take solace in our memories and recollection of his outstanding character, temperament and contributions to our state and the law. His impact is now his enduring legacy for which our state and the nation are better.

I specifically express my condolence to the Governor, the Government, and the people of Kogi State at this difficult time of successive losses. Our entire government in every arm has experienced losses of high ranking officials in the past weeks with the losses of Mr. Abdulateef Suleiman; an important Assistant to the governor in the Executive, Hon. John Abah; a ranking member of the State House of Assembly in the Legislature, and the twin losses of a senior official of the Judiciary; Justice Atadoga, President of the Customary Court of Appeal, and now the loss of the head of the State Judiciary; Justice Ajanah.

Our prayers and thoughts to the families of the departed, Kogi State Government and the people of Kogi State.

Babatunde Irukera”
