HOUSE PROBE:
BPP SAYS NO INFRACTIONS AGAINST NSITF MGT

-AS LABOUR MINISTER, NGIGE REFUSES TO TENDER PROOF OF PRESIDENTIAL APPROVAL TO SACK NSITF MGT

MOSES OBA

Reprieve came the way of the Management of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund(NSITF) during the Sitting of the House Adhoc Committee probing their sack by the Labour Minister, Chris Ngige when the representative of the DG Bureau for Public Procurement( BPP), Engr Babatunde Kuye revealed that contrary to the Minister’s claims, the Agency had found no infractions against the Management in it’s Procurement processes.

This came just as the
Minister, Ngige appeared before the House Adhoc Committee set up to probe sack of the Managements of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund( NSITF), MBET AND TCN yesterday but refused to tender the most vital document – The Presidential Approval he claimed to rely on to sack the management.
He said the document was classified.

The Minister had earlier brought the document to be tendered but developed Cold feet after Hon Sada Soli, representing Jibia/ Kaita Federal Constituency noticed that the letter had discrepanses , typographic errors and an imposed portion. He queried the Minister that the letter of approval didn’t look genuine, after which the committee members insisted on having a copy but the Minister objected and claimed that the document was a restricted document.

The Committee Chairman thereafter ruled that the minister had refused to tender the most critical evidence with regards to the Investigative Hearing.
The Minister had earlier denied allegations of witch hunting levelled against him by the sacked managements, insisting he followed due process.
