NECO releases timetable for 2020 exams

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced that its 2020 examinations for Senior Secondary three (SS3) students will commence on October 5.

The announcement was made by the NECO registrar/chief executive officer, Professor Godswill Obioma at a press conference in Minna, Niger state, on Tuesday, August 11, Channels TV reported. He said that the NECO senior secondary certificate examinations (SSCE) will end on November 18, 2020. The registrar also disclosed that the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) for JSS 3 students, also conducted by NECO, will start on August 24 and end of September 4 and no longer September 7 as earlier announced.

He stated that NECO NCEE for admission of JSS1 students into federal unity colleges will hold on Saturday 17th October 2020. The examination body stated that it has put in place special measures for the conduct of all its examinations this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. NECS noted that maintaining social distancing protocols by candidates and examination officials is compulsory.
