T.N. COM, an organization committed to promoting the culture of good governance and public accountability has been launched.
The organization was launched yesterday in Abuja.
Speaking during the launch, Convener of the body, Omowumi Serah Obafemi said the time had come for youths in Nigeria to take the bull by the horn by remaining committed to the urgent task of rebuilding and returning the nation back to the path of social justice, unprecedented growth and socioeconomic prosperity.
” The overriding desire and cardinal goal is to help institute good governance and public accountability in Nigeria through active citizenship”, she declared.
According to her, “we are evolving strategic measures geared towards promoting processes that enhance young people’s engagement in governance and accountability, by leveraging the power of technology and media”.
In his address, the Youth Coordinator of the network, Victor Alonge said T.N.com ” works to help citizens understand laws clearly enough to make demands from their elected representatives”.
He disclosed that the broad components of the project include using social and traditional media to mobilise young people on entrenching good governance and helping to restructure the electioneering system, while also providing robust social media support to the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) among others.
