Breaking News: Buhari appoints new NCMM DG

Prof Abba Isa Tijani has been appointed as the Director-General of National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM).
Tijani’s appointment as the new NCMM DG was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari who also made the renowned academician the agency’s Chief executive. A professor of museology and anthropology, Tijani is the former University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID)’s head of the department of Fine Arts. He was also a former coordinating head of the department of creative arts.
Abbah, prior to his federal Government appointment, was the acting Director of University of Maiduguri’s Centre for the Study of Cultural Sustainability (CSCS).
He was also the executive board of Director and head of Nigeria DAAD-funded project, SDG Graduate School “Performing Sustainability: Cultures and development in West Africa.” Tijani’s appointment has been described as well-deserved and a good move for the NCMM.
