Labour leader and NULGE President, Khaleel, slumps and dies

The fraternity of the Nigeria Labour has been thrown into mourning as Ibrahim Khaleel, the National President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has died.
He was reported to have died on Wednesday, October 7, after being rushed to the National Hospital in Abuja where he was announced dead.
According to Kano NULGE Chairman, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, who confirmed the loss, the deceased slumped and was quickly rushed to the hospital only for all the efforts to be in vain.

The remains of Khaleel will be buried on Thursday afternoon, October 8, in his Wudil local Government area of Kano State.

A vibrant Nigerian labour leader, the deceased, prior to his death, was the national treasurer of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC). Meanwhile, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led Kano Government has expressed grief over the death of the NULGE national Chairman. In a statement signed by his chief press Secretary, Abba Anwar, Governor Ganduje mourned the Khaleel and sent a condolence message to his personal and labour family.

According to the Governor, Khaleel passed away as at the time his service was needed most by the Country. The Governor prayed that God grant the families of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss and grant Khaleel Al-Janatul Fridaus ( the highest repose).
