PRESIDENT BUHARI CONGRATULATES ROTIMI AKEREDOLU ON RE-ELECTION AS ONDO GOVERNOR

President Muhammadu Buhari rejoices with Rotimi Akeredolu SAN, on his re-election as Governor of Ondo State for another four-year term.

The President lauds the resounding victory of the Governor at the election held on Saturday, October 10, 2020, noting that the votes garnered “show that one good turn surely deserves another.”

He thanks the people of Ondo State for keeping faith with their Governor, and the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that “the people know the person and party that truly serves them, and have spoken in clear voice and unmistakable terms.”

President Buhari appreciates the electorate in Ondo State for comporting themselves decently and in order, and for exhibiting conduct that indicates that the country is making progress in its electoral behavior.

He also gives kudos to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for organizing credible, free and fair election, and to security agencies which ensured that orderliness was enthroned and maintained.

The President urges Gov Akeredolu to be humble and magnanimous in victory, and serve the people of Ondo State even better than how he did in the first term, noting: “when you serve with heart and might, the people respond in like manner, and we can easily get to where we are headed as a country.”

KOGI GOV CONGRATULATES AKEREDOLU ON ELECTION VICTORY

Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has congratulated his Ondo State counterpart, Rotimi Akeredolu on his victory in the October 10 governorship election in the state.

Akeredolu who is the governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious after polling 292,830 votes to defeat his closest contenders, Eyitayo Jegede of the PDP who garnered 195,791 votes and Ajayi Agboola of the ZLP who polled 69,127 votes in the keenly contested election.

Bello in his congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, described Akeredolu’s re-election for another four years in office as victory for democracy.

He said the good people of Ondo State have spoken loud and clear having once again demonstrated their confidence in Aketi through the ballots.

The Governor commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, the good people of Ondo State and all other stakeholders who worked to make the governorship election in Ondo a success.

Bello particularly thanked Kogi State indigenes resident in Owo, Ondo State for heeding his earlier call by coming to give their support to Governor Akeredolu’s re-election bid.

He expressed the confidence that the people of Ondo State will witness better governance and more dividends of democracy during the second term of Akeredolu.

He prayed God to grant Akeredolu sound health, wisdom and protection as he prepares to take on the reigns of leadership of the Sunshine State for another four years.
