JUST IN: African Football Legend Dies Few Days After Maradona’s Death

Few days after the death of Diego Armando Maradona, Africa football legend Papa Bouba Diop is reportedly dead.
According to reports, the former Senegalese international died after a long battle with illness at the age of 42. Diop would be remembered for scoring the match winner when Senegal beat France in the opening game of the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Japan/Korea in which Senegal reached the quarter-finals. He ended as his team’s best scorer of the tournament with three goals, having also scored twice against Uruguay. In his 63 appearances for Senegal, Diop found the back of the net 11 times. During his illustrious career, Diop played for Neuchâtel Xamax, Lens, Fulham, Portsmouth, AEK Athens, West Ham United, Birmingham City before retiring from football.
