Fayobi Oladiwura Ajibike Adepoju was buried February 17 in Ile-Oluji, Ondo State amidst showers of encomiums from attendees for her role in uplifting the education during her life time.
She was born in Ile-Oluji to late Chief Yegbata Ebenezer Akinboboye
Adepoju of the High Chief Lisa Kupoluyi Adepoju and High Chief Florence Motinola Adepoju (nee Adeyonu)
of the Ademukolu Adeyonu family. Little Fayobi grew up in Ile-Oluji and Ibadan where she attended her
primary school and completed it in St Luke’s Primary school Jos. She proceeded to St. Anne’s Secondary
School, Ibadan for her secondary education and Gboluji Grammar School Ile-Oluji for her Advanced level
education, H.S.C from where she proceeded to Federal Teachers College, Okene and University of Ife, now
Obafemi Awolowo where she graduated with a B.sc in Education.
Her working career took her through the Treasury Department of the Old Western Nigeria.
from University of Ife and completion of the mandatory one year NYSC in Otukpo, in Benue state, she was
employed by Old Ondo State government and served in Amoye Grammar School Ikerre Ekiti and various
schools in Ondo state, prominent amongst them are St. Helen’s Unity Secondary School Ondo, St. Monica’s
Girls Grammar School, Ondo and Ansarudeen Ondo. She rose to become a very senior Principal before her
Upon retirement, she worked as a customary Judge in Ondo State from 2015 until Oct 2020 when she
Fayobi Oladiwura, Ajibike as fondly called by her parents, was married to Mr. Johnson Akinlabi Olusegun
and blessed with children and grandchildren.
She was a devout Christian and staunch member of The Way of Holiness Chapel (T.W.O.H.C) Church in Ondo
where she was actively engaged in teaching children and young adults at
St Peter’s Church Ile-Oluji, the family church.
