Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has debunked a report in a section of the media suggesting that he was planning to form a new political party to accommodate breaks away from the two leading political parties in Nigeria ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The former President has however suggested that the author of the story might need to visit ‘Yaba Left’ adding that those who believed the story can also believe their mothers are men.

The former President in a statement signed by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, a copy of which was sent to Independent described the report as fabricated adding that he has no plan to float a new political party either now or in the future.

The statement said the fabricated stories hardly come as a surprise because Obasanjo has, for some time now, observed with bewilderment the efforts by some people to drag him into their political games.

He however appealed to those who want to drag him back into politics through the back doors to respect his non-partisan posture, saying his party now is the party of Nigerian facing insecurity, hunger and other challenges facing the country.
