VANGUARD OF OKUN WOMEN INITIATIVE SET FOR INAUGURATION

A new initiative aimed at lifting the social wellbeing of Okun Women of Kogi State, Vanguard of Okun Women Initiative is set for inauguration on Sunday, December 12, 2021 in Abuja.
Speaking with Dgovscoops, the Initiator and President, Mrs Bolanle Bola-Olorunsaiye, former Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development said the inauguration would take place 5pm at Olumawu Basic School, 92 Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Wuse 2, Abuja.
She outlines the objectives of the Initiative as follows:

“Vanguard Of Okun Women(VOW) Vision,Objectives and Core Values

VISION:
We strive to create a future in which all Okun woman/girl will be viewed, valued by her community, and equipped to fulfill her unique purpose.

Mission
To empower women in achieving their ambitions, create an equal world, fulfil their potentials and be resilience in the face of adversity.

OBJECTIVES:

1. To make all Okun women/girls become self-sustaining and remain well recognized in their communities.

2. To make Okun woman/girl well respected and truly empowered.

3. To help achieve full potentials of Okun women/girls and resilience in the face of adversity.

4. Seek opportunities to maintain and develop intra and inter community interaction.

5. To provide a safe, secure fit for purpose learning/working environment

6. To deliver and expand a variety and range of training to meet identified need.

We are committed to promote gender equality, empower women and girls, and to removing any barriers that prevent full participation of women and girls in the public and political life”.
