The Chairman, State House Committee on Judiciary, Justice & Legal Matters, Hon. (Barr.) Cosmas Atabor led members of his Committee on a working visit to the newly inaugurated Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice H.A. Olusiyi and the President of the Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Bayo Olowosegun in a separate call to their offices.
Barr. Cosmas stated that the visit was to firstly, condole the Judiciary over the huge sad losses recorded in recent times. Secondly, to congratulate the Justices on their well deserved appointments.
The committee brought the justices up to speed on its efforts so far in contributing to the state’s Judicial System particularly, on A Bill to Establish Magistrates Courts and other matters, amongst others, which has scaled 2nd reading on the the floor of the house.
Atabor assured the Justices of the committee’s legislative support and the cooperation of the State Assembly in the discharge of their responsibilities in dispensing Justice.
The justices received the honourable members with delight, thanked them for making out time to identify with them at all times. They commended the committee’s notable efforts in strengthening the state’s judicial system and urged the honourable members not to relent in their remarkable contributions and support for the sector.
“We will give our very best to justify the confidence, trust and hope which our positions and the Law expects of us”, the justices assured.
