MOPA, PONYAN COMMUNITIES GET RCCG PALLIATIVES
MOSES OBA
Hundreds of indigent persons including widows in two communities of Kogi State, benefited from the Social Responsibility gestures of the Redeemed Christian Church of God within the last one week.
The gestures, which include the distribution of palliatives were carried out in Ponyan and Mopa, both in the Western Senatorial District of the state.
The Assistant Pastor in charge of province, Ojo Joel, who led the Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) team of RCCG, Kogi Province 4 in the activities, said the gestures was in collaboration with the RCCG Festival of Life, based in the UK.
According to the clergy, the RCCG believes the surest way to touch God is through the needy.
Alluding to the scriptures, the man of God said, when a neighbor is in need, Jesus is in need; adding that, the central message of Jesus Christ is succour to the needy.
Events in both communities did not end without charges from the world of God by Pastor Sam Olorundare, who pointed out the need for the people to look beyond physical meal which can perish, laying emphasis on eternal provision for the soul.
The palliatives which were given to many widows and indigent families, consist of rice, Spaghettis, semovita, noodles, groundnut oil, satchets of tomato paste and more. About 750 beneficiaries were recorded.
