Jennifer Ugwueke

Just a few hours after the embattled Ogun Environment Commissioner, Abiodun Abudu-Balogun was suspended for allegedly harassing a 16-year-old Secondary Schoolgirl, Melojuekun Barakat, the teenager has appealed to Nigerians to allow the matter rest.

In a rather suspicious twist, the girl who had earlier detailed her experience with Abudu-Balogun in a widely circulated video appeared on another shot clip where she said there were misconceptions about her and the Commissioner.

In the 36 seconds video which has been circulated on various social media platforms Sunday night, the girl thanked all Nigerians for their love for her and interest in the case.

">

She said: “You can recall that I was the young lady in the viral video about sexual harassment by Commissioner for Environment in Ogun State.

“I am using this opportunity to thank all meaningful Nigerians that show their supports and love towards this matter.

">

“And I want you to know that there were view misconceptions and misunderstandings between me and the Commissioner. I now want to use this opportunity to appeal to meaningful Nigerians to please allow this matter to rest. Thanks.”
